The Art Show Gala Preview
The Art Show, organized by the Art Dealers Association of America to benefit Henry Street Settlement, is one of the most prestigious, varied and exciting art fairs in the nation. The Gala Preview annual event brings together an international group of collectors, connoisseurs, socialites, and celebrities for a cocktail reception and preview of the galleries' collections.

Instituto Cervantes NY – Electrica IC-11
Instituto Cervantes NY is pleased to announce Electrica IC-11: Creating Convergence. This exhibition, the first of the Instituto's Open Yard Project series, offers Cervantes’ physical space as a platform for interdisciplinary production and collaboration. MTA Arts for Transit – Robert Kushner
Download a free podcast to learn more about 4 Seasons Seasoned, Robert Kushner’s glass mosaic artwork located on the mezzanine walls of 77th Street station. The artist, a key figure of the Pattern and Decoration movement, continues to feature vegetal motifs in his works, often along with geometric patterns and architectural shapes. In this artwork he creates bouquets of flowers - from every season - that reflect such influences as Dutch flower paintings and Japanese screens.

The West Harlem Art Fund and artist Dianne Smith present Gumboot Juba at the Mink Building
Juba, Pattin' Juba or Guiba is the name of the dance (of West African influence) the slaves did on the Southern plantations, in the Caribbean and Dutch Guiana. The sounds and movements took the place of drums. This multimedia installation will be a homage to Tap, Gumboot, and African American Fraternity Stepping and is comprised of sculptures made from refuse with a Zulu, Yuroba and African American Aesthetic. The installation will also be contextualized with references to African american History, Tap, Gumboot Dance, and Stepping.

Eva Rothschild: Empire
This new Public Art Fund commission by Eva Rothschild responds to Doris C. Freedman Plaza, a dynamic entry point to Central Park. As a multidirectional archway, Empire draws awareness to the shift between the realms of city and park, evoking the natural forms of the trees on the Plaza as well as the verticality of the buildings that border the site.

Special Armory Arts Week Guided Tour of the Modern Art Galleries plus "Katrin Sigurdardottir at the Met" special exhibition
Armory Circle members are offered a special one-hour guided tour of the Modern Art galleries with a curatorial staff member from the Department of Nineteenth Century, Modern, and Contemporary Art, focusing on the Museum’s exceptional permanent collection of modern and contemporary art. The tour will also feature work by Icelandic artist Katrin Sigurdardottir, the latest site-specific sculptural installations for the Museum's series of solo exhibitions featuring the work of contemporary artists at mid-career.
